The Canadian Agri-Food Automation & Intelligence Network is pleased to invite you to register to attend The Future of Agriculture – An Evening with McKinney and McConnell at the Ottawa Westin Hotel, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on February 12, 2024.
Ted McKinney is the CEO of the Washington, DC-based National Association of State Departments of Agriculture. He has enjoyed a distinguished career that saw him serve as the United States Department of Agriculture’s inaugural Under Secretary of Agriculture for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs from 2017 to 2021. He offers a fascinating perspective on agri-food issues of global importance.
Kim McConnell has carved an equally interesting and influential body of work in the ag sector. A recipient of the Order of Canada, he is co-founder and past CEO of AdFarm, one of the largest agricultural marketing communications firms in North America.
Join these two agri-food sector legends as they engage in a frank discussion of the technology, processes, and systems that feed an increasingly volatile planet and its growing population.
Reception and informal networking opportunity to follow.
Seating is limited and when we reach capacity, registration will close. There is no charge to attend, but if you plan to join us–and even if you do not–consider using the link provided to make a donation to the Ottawa Food Bank. While the innovation and research we fund promotes food security at a national level, the work in which they are engaged combats food insecurity at the local and family levels. Donations made through CAAIN events will be reported to Drive Away Hunger, the Canadian agri-food industry’s effort to connect the food we produce with our community members who need it the most.
This event is an unofficial lead-in to Farm Credit Canada’s Future of Food, which will take place on Canada’s Agriculture Day, February 13, 2024, at Ottawa’s Shaw Centre.
