Moove is an AI-powered scheduling tool designed to transform raw milk transportation logistics and processor throughput across the dairy supply chain. This system uses machine learning and optimization algorithms to autonomously generate optimal routing schedules that match real-time milk supply with processor demand, resulting in a cohesive supply chain. The tool aims to enhance visibility into scheduling outcomes, increase efficiency for transportation teams, reduce hauling costs, and increase earnings for dairy cooperatives.
The price processors pay for dairy products depends not only on the volume of milk but also on the components of that milk (i.e. protein, butterfat, bacteria, etc.). Transportation teams manage the scheduling process manually, which results in compounding inefficiencies across the dairy supply chain. Presently, the standard practice for transportation teams to build their supply schedules is simply copying the supply amounts from the previous week to the current week, which leads to significant inaccuracies. This process is complicated by various fluctuating requirements out of their control, often leading to high transportation costs and a lack of visibility into the effectiveness of their assembled schedules. This project sets out to develop an AI solution that automatically matches schedule items to their optimal processor, providing clear visibility and new insights into the outcome of each match, ultimately streamlining supply chain operations.
