The livestock feed sector (cattle, hogs, poultry) has opportunities for optimization.
In particular, feed procurement still requires a lot of manual effort for a producer to find the desired feed for their animals, determine pricing and transact the purchase. Furthermore, producers who might be interested in switching from pre-mixed feeds to custom mixes that more closely meet their animals’ nutritional needs have to account for this additional effort.
A digital platform that enables feed brokers, buyers and nutritionists to connect more seamlessly will improve the sector’s overall effectiveness, while also reducing waste and improving animal health.
FeedXchange is an Alberta-based tech startup developing a digital platform to improve efficiency and reduce costs for dairy farmers, feedlots, and other producers when they are buying animal feed.
